Cellar Notes: “It has taken a few years to understand Michigan Sauvignon Blanc for us. It’s not New Zealand and it’s not California. It’s pure Michigan! The 2023 vintage has maintained our house style that started with the 2022 vintage. We fermented a portion in stainless steel with our favorite aromatic yeast strain and fermented 25% in neutral oak puncheons with native yeast to add body and complexity. We feel that this vintage is a homage to the true varietal expression of Sauvignon Blanc which shows of notes of mountain herbs, white peach, and has great minerality. The wine was rested on lees until an early bottling mid-November to preserve the fruit." - Andrew Backlin
