Cantina Bolzano Huck am Bach is a classic expression of Santa Maddalena, a historic wine zone in Alto Adige. The blend is 90% Lagrein and 10% Schiava, grown on gravelly soils on the slopes above Bolzano at 250 to 500 meters. The vineyards are farmed using organic practices.

The wine shows an intense ruby color with aromas of violet and rose alongside red cherry, raspberry, bitter almond, and marzipan. On the palate, it is full and smooth, with a persistent finish. Traditional fermentation of carefully selected grapes is followed by aging in large oak vats, giving the wine structure while maintaining its fresh, fruity character.

Huck am Bach is a versatile Alto Adige red that works particularly well with regional dishes, from Speck and dumplings to smoked meats, pasta, game ragout, and hard cheeses. It is a straightforward, food friendly example of the distinctive wines coming from the Santa Maddalena hills.
