Vineyard Notes: The estate is located in the province of Teramo in the fertile Vibrata Valley, which is close to the border of the Marche region. The sea is only 9.3 miles away and provides moderating breezes for perfect ripening. The vines are 20-40 years old. The vineyards are certified organic with conversion to biodynamic. The Trebbiano grapes for this cuvee come from the Lago Vineyard near the Vibrata River. The river creates a small microclimate in which this Trebiano thrives.
Winemaking Notes: Grapes were manually harvested. They were destemmed, crushed, and put in amphorae for spontaneous fermentation and aging with skin maceration for 9 months. They found that the longer you keep the Trebbiano must with the skins, the lighter the color and lighter the tannins.
Tasting Notes: This Trebbiano has a long life ahead. On the nose, it has a bouquet of apples, pears, and apricots with hints of honey, sage, and rosemary and a touch of mint. On the palate, it is seductive, complex, and inviting with dried yellow fruit notes and wild herbs. Pair this amphora Trebbiano with pasta with meat sauces, pork dishes, roasted white meats, nuts, and aged cheeses.
