Vintage Notes: Heat was the operative word in 2021 – the hottest recorded day time high ever - 113F was in June not a month known for heat.

We employed a larger canopy of leaves to protect the clusters from sunburn – and worked hard to keep the vines as hydrated as possible. The early harvest began on September 1.

Normally a Right Bank Bordeaux-styled blend – this year we preferred more of the higher acid Cabernet Sauvignon to balance out the berry notes of Merlot and perfume of the Cabernet Franc.

Winemaking Notes: This 80 barrel blend was cellared in 6% new French Oak barrels for 20 months. 80% fruit was sourced from our organically farmed estate vineyards in Yakima Valley with the balance from DuBrul and Red Willow Vineyards. We extended the length of fermentation to better polymerize the tannins creating a more supple, plush wine.

Tasting Notes: A full-bodied red with cassis and herbs on the nose with bold blackberry and spice flavors with a massive long tannic finish.
