Ver Sacrum 2022 'GSM' Red Rhone Blend, Los Chacayes IG

Vineyard Notes: This wine is a field blend of Grenache, Monastrell, and Syrah from a single, sustainably farmed vineyard. The soil is comprised of calcareous river stones.

Winemaking Notes: The three varieties are co-fermented, 100% whole cluster, in a 3,000-liter unlined cement egg. Fermentation occurs with native yeasts. 50% of the grapes age in used oak barrels while the remaining ages in concrete. The wine is bottled unfiltered.

Tasting Notes: The nose is earthy and muddled with hints of blackberry and cherry with undertones of forest floor, fungi, bay leaf, and leather. The palate is juicy and lush with black fruits, currant, and fine grained tannins that lead to a light finish of clove and cinnamon.
