Winemaking Notes: "Non Affecté" means "unaffected" in French and refers to the fact that this Chardonnay sees no oak. The grapes are whole cluster pressed and cold fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with Épernay 2 yeast to bring out fresh fruity aromas and flavors. The young wine rests on its lees over winter to add body and complexity, and was bottled in March to capture freshness.

Tasting Notes: The wine has a nose of fresh apples and pears with a hint of brioche from the lees aging. The medium-bodied palate is fresh and displays intense yellow apple, juicy pear, and savory citrus notes that carry into a long finish. Wyncroft’s Marland series are vinified intentionally for early consumption, and this drinks beautifully now. This Chardonnay is perfect with fish, grilled chicken, cheese plates, and cold pasta salads.

Winemaker’s Comments: "I made my first Chardonnay from Southwest Michigan fruit in 1984 and was struck by how similar it tasted to Burgundian Chardonnay. Michigan’s slightly longer and warmer growing season tends to bring out a lushness of fresh fruit that surprises!" - Jim Lester

Marland means “land near the lake” in Old English.
