Vineyard Notes: Glacier's Edge Vineyard is owned by Bill Hendricks. Bill's strict viticulture methods are very close to Wyncroft's methods, which produces small, intensely flavored berries and moderate yields.
Tasting Notes: This is a deep, jewel-toned blue violet wine with a pure fresh nose of blueberry, boysenberry, and peppered pie crust. The palate is rich without even a hint of heaviness, but rather a viscous mouth-feel laced with berry tartness. The finish is long and spicy, making a most refreshing red wine. For those of you not familiar with this Austrian classic, think Pinot Noir crossed with Petite Sirah to get a sense of this beautiful wine. Pair it with wild game, lamb, vegetable beef soup, or a grilled burger. In the summer the wine is nice with a slight chill.
