Winemaker Notes: “The 2023 My Friend Pan turned out to be a much different wine than we set out to make, but ended up being more delicious than we could have imagined. Whole cluster Pinot Noir was pressed immediately in the hopes of creating a white wine from the red grape. Over time, the color dropped until it reached a beautiful pale pink and Pan decided that was the right shade. We took Pan to bottle with the tiniest amount of residual sugar still left to ferment, which created a dry rose with a delicate effervescence. Imagine eating wild strawberries, while sitting on a moss covered log in an ancient mountain forest, when a soft breeze carries the scents of the forest floor through your hair. That’s My Friend Pan coming to say hello.
My Friend Pan is named after our daughter’s first imaginary friend. It’s only fitting that our wild child’s friend is known for their love of music and sheep. We hope this wine can help take you from the mundane to the magical too.” - Joe & Chloe
Fruit Source: Shed Wine sources from vineyards that are actively taking steps to farm with sustainable practices. As organic farming grows in Michigan, they will continue to seek out the best farming partners possible.
Winemaking Notes: All Shed wines ferment spontaneously with native yeast and are vegan friendly. They are bottled unfined and unfiltered (exception: the 2023 Sit Talk Chardonnay was the only wine to be filtered for the vintage).
Tasting Notes: Essentially a blanc de noir, with just the tiniest bit of pink hanging on, this white wine is a perfect summer sipper. It is zippy yet balanced with acidity to pair with hot days and delicious salads.
