Winemaker Notes: “The 2023 Leave the Door Open is a blend of 70% Cabernet Franc and 30% La Crescent. Both the CF and the LC fermented with native yeasts separately, before being blended together. The CF delivers classic notes of earthy red fruit and spices, while the LC layers in a tropical brightness that makes this wine so unique. The combination creates an aromatic bouquet of orange blossoms, bright stone fruit on the palate, followed by a dry and refreshing finish. We named this wine Leave the Door open in honor of our daughter overcoming her nighttime fears, and for us overcoming our fear of using a hybrid grape like La Crescent. We can safely say that the door will be left wide open for this grape at Shed Wine.” - Joe & Chloe
Fruit Source: Shed Wine sources from vineyards that are actively taking steps to farm with sustainable practices. As organic farming grows in Michigan, they will continue to seek out the best farming partners possible.
Winemaking Notes: All Shed wines ferment spontaneously with native yeast and are vegan friendly. They are bottled unfined and unfiltered (exception: the 2023 Sit Talk Chardonnay was the only wine to be filtered for the vintage).
