The idea of La Lata originated with Rebujito, a sherry cocktail that Alvaro and Ana of Selections de la Viña grew up drinking at the Feria de Abril in Sevilla. The rebujito drink is as old as the fair itself, dating back to the mid-1800s. The cocktail blends fino sherry or manzanilla sherry with Sprite, served over ice and sometimes garnished with a mint leaf. It's somewhat reminiscent of a sherry cobbler, but lighter and more refreshing.

Their version mixes organic 8-year-old Pedro Ximenez fino from Bodegas Robles in Montilla-Moriles with organic lemon juice, a touch of organic grapefruit juice, and a little bit of fizz for the elevated lift. There are no concentrates, no added sugar, and no added flavors. Serve over ice and add a mint leaf, or chilled right out of the can.
