Terroir Notes: This Pinot Noir is sourced from Lacewing Vineyard (fka Atavus Vineyard) in the Colombia Gorge. The vineyard was planted in 1968 to Pinot Noir and Gewürztraminer. The old vines and organic farming produce thick skins and tannic wines.
Winemaking Notes: The grapes are foot trodden one to two times daily for 30 days with 30% whole cluster. Then they are gently pressed into a mix of used French barrels. The wine ages for 16 months. Sulfites are added only at the time of bottling. No other additives go into the wine.
Tasting Notes: Earthy with notes of licorice and tobacco followed by cranberry, cherry, and cinnamon.
