Winemaking Notes: Grapes are manually harvested and whole cluster pressed. Only the juice fraction is used for this wine. The wine ferments in stainless steel. Second fermentation occurs in the bottle (traditional method). The wine ages in bottle on the lees for a 24 months, then riddled and disgorged.

Wine Notes: It is only natural that the Laing brothers bring their sparkling expertise to Big Little! Named after the Star Wars character C-3PO, C-3 Pinot consists of 3 Pinot varieties grown on their estate Lake Leelanau vineyard. Enjoy notes of preserved lemon and toasted shortbread, with bright acidity and a soft finish.

Sustainability: Sustainability is central to the Laings’ farming philosophy. Cover cropping has been the primary weed management strategy since 2020. Clovers and low grasses are planted under vine to suppress weeds, increase biodiversity, improve soil structure, build organic matter, and sequester carbon. Custom compost blends are developed in collaboration with Morgan Composting to promote long term soil health. The vineyards are MAEAP certified across four cropping and farmstead systems. The majority of the vineyards are dry farmed, relying on natural rainfall rather than irrigation.
