Terroir Notes: Travignoli is situated amidst the hills of Pelago in the Chianti Rufina DOCG. The soil composition of this area consists of marl and calcareous clay as typically found in the Arno Valley east of Florence. The vineyards are between 200 and 350 meters above sea level at the foothills of the Apennine Mountains. The mountains provide cooling winds during the summer heat and diurnal temperature shifts, resulting in a red wine with smooth tannins that is lighter and less structured compared to those in Chianti Classico.

Winemaking Notes: The grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 10 days before racking. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel. After fermentation, the wine is put into Slavonian oak barrels for another 6 months of aging.

Tasting Notes: The color is of a bright ruby red. On the nose, expect a clean, floral aroma. The wine is well structured and harmonic on the palate. Soft tannins allow for this wine to go down smooth and fast! Drinking great now, this wine can age for 10 to 15 years. Try pairing it with both light and more substantial dishes; it's very versatile. Pizza is a must!
