Blå starts out with delicate aromas of jasmine, chamomile and a hint of citrus. This is followed by a round taste from the careful selection of white teas and accompanied by good complexity and depth from the green teas. It ends in a long finish joined by comfortable tannins created by the Darjeeling first flush. The color is light green with yellow nuances. Blå is the perfect alcohol-free aperitif. It also pairs beautifully with various starters, vegetarian or light mains, and most desserts.
About Jasmine Tea: Green jasmine tea is one of the oldest and best-known aromas used in tea. It is grown at an altitude of approximately 1,300-1,450 meters above sea level in China. Great care is taken to create jasmine-scented tea where the fresh jasmine blossoms are picked early in the morning and mixed in with green tea leaves, where a small amount of heat is applied to the mixture. The jasmine tea features a delicate flavor profile and exudes an aromatic floral scent, which needs to be infused thoughtfully to preserve the taste.
Jasmine tea is an herbal tea that is brewed using a mixture of tea leaves from the Camellia sinensis plant and infusions of fresh jasmine blossoms. Tea leaves are harvested from the plant in spring and are carefully preserved until the jasmine blossoms begin blooming in summer. The blossoms are then added to the stored leaves and allowed to infuse for a period of several hours or weeks depending on the tea master and blend. The jasmine scent infusion process is then repeated several times.
About Darjeeling Tea: Darjeeling tea flourishes in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal, India. What sets Darjeeling tea apart is its remarkable versatility, allowing the leaves to undergo distinct processing methods, yielding white, green, black, or oolong teas. And is also called the Champagne of teas. Darjeeling tea is known for its complexity and range of flavors. Depending on the flush and processing method, one can encounter notes of muscatel, floral, fruity, nutty, or earthy qualities. The taste can be both brisk and astringent or mellow and sweet. The first flush, known for its delicate and floral teas, and the second flush, prized for its muscatel notes, are especially renowned.
Darjeeling tea is typically hand-plucked, ensuring that only the top two leaves and a bud are harvested. This labor-intensive process ensures the highest quality tea leaves are used.Copenhagen Sparkling Tea Co. uses both first flush and second flush Darjeeling, primarily from these registered tea gardens; Happy Valley, Namring Upper and Steinthal.
