Vineyard Notes: Grapes are sourced from Stella Crinita's estate vineyard, which was planted in 2003. The vineyard, located in the Vista Flores subregion of Tunuyan in Argentina’s Uco Valley, has always been farmed biodynamically, but was Demeter certified in 2012. Grapes are always harvested by hand.
Winemaking Notes: The wine ferments with native yeast for 16 days in concrete eggs and stainless steel tanks. It matures for 14 months in 70% concrete eggs and 30% second-use oak barrels. No additives or invasive procedures are used in the vinification process, and no SO2 is added at any stage. Stella Crinita's wines are never fined or filtered.
Tasting Notes: Notes of plums and blackberries soaked in vanilla beans and baking spices on the nose. A plush texture of ripe figs with macerated cherries and sandalwood mixed with lavender and nag champa dominate the palate. The wine finishes with some serious grip from both grape tannin and a little time in oak. Concentrated leather and dark mixed berry fruit rollup.
