Vineyard Notes: Grapes are sourced from Stella Crinita's estate vineyard, which was planted in 2003. The vineyard, located in the Vista Flores subregion of Tunuyan in Argentina’s Uco Valley, has always been farmed biodynamically, but was Demeter certified in 2012. Grapes are always harvested by hand.
Winemaking Notes: The wine ferments for 21 days in concrete eggs and stainless steel tanks before aging for 14 months, 50% in concrete egg and 50% in second-use oak barrel. No additives or invasive procedures are used in the vinification process, and no SO2 is added at any stage. Stella Crinita's wines are never fined or filtered.
Tasting Notes: Notes of blackberries and boysenberries wrapped in rose petals, violets, and tobacco lift up into the nose. This leads into layers of ripe cherries and blackberries mixed with coriander, cardamom, and mushrooms on the palate and soft, plush tannins with medium acidity holding up the backbone. A long finish persists with dark fruit and floral qualities.
