Vineyard Notes: Lolonis Vineyard, founded in 1916, is a historic site in the southern end of Redwood Valley, comprised of Redvine sandy loam soils. These soils are slightly sandier than the clay loams found in Calpella and Ukiah, which suits Chardonnay well, bringing a bright, fresh acidity to these old vines, which were planted between 1950-1972.

Winemaking Notes: Grapes are hand harvested and pressed whole cluster. The juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine was racked off the gross lees in November 2023, and then was aged in one 300 gallon HDPE Flextank. It was racked and bottled in April 2024, with just 20 ppm of SO2 aded prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes: A bright and fresh mouthfeel frames this wine with loads of apple and citrus fruit on the nose. Old vines give us lots of concentration and flextank aging brings restraint and purity without being obfuscated by oak.

‘Chardonnay is one of the most misunderstood varieties. With restraint and fresh acid, the wines are great young and age really well, too..’ - Shaunt

‘I’ll be the first to throw CA Chardonnay under the bus, but this is the wine that‘s driving that bus.’ - Diego
