Populis 2023 Macerated White, California

Vineyard Notes: All the vineayrds are farmed organically throughout Northern California. Grenache blanc, Albariño, Ribolla and Muscat are from Lodi. Old vine Chardonnay from Mendocino and Picpoul from Sierra Foothills.

Winemaking Notes: Grenache blanc and Orange Muscat are both destemmed and see a short 5-day maceration (separately). The Ribolla is destemmed and pressed when dry (2 weeks). The Chardonnay is destemmed and pressed once dry (10 days). The Picpoul and Albariño are both direct press. All the wines are racked off the gross lees in early winter and are blended in the springtime for bottling in April. 25ppm of sulfur is added prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes: All the different varieties give this wine layers and layers of flavor while still being super fresh and drinkable. Notes of apple, pear, and quince with a touch of floral from the Orange Muscat. The direct press components help accentuate the juicy mouthfeel and the fresh finish.
