Pentecostes 2022 Albarino, Rias Baixas

Vineyard Notes: Grapes are sourced from Pentecostes' two estate farms in the Miñor Valley, Pazo Barreiro being the focal point for the production, where steep, terraced slopes have been constructed over granite soils. Vines were planted in 2017, and the vineyards take advantage of the variety of aspects and orientations in the vineyard. The grapes are cultivated in the most natural way possible, and the winery is planning to get organic certification. A project focused on restoration, the estate is the result of a rebuilding of parcels of vineyards to resurrect the only DO Rías Baixas vineyard in the Miñor Valley region.

Winemaking Notes: The grapes are hand-harvested and stored overnight at 10C degrees, and slow fermentations take place at cellar temperature in stainless-steel tanks, with a small portion of the harvest fermented in French oak. The wines are then raised on the lees, undisturbed, for six months before bottling, which adds further dimension to these exquisite wines. Minimal SO2 is added at bottling.
