The Ruth Lewandowski Rosé highlights gutsy Portuguese varieties, showcasing the aroma, flavor, and textural signatures characteristic of these deep, herbal, and tannic red grapes. The majority of the blend consists of Touriga Nacional, Souzao, and Tinta Roriz. A small amount of Sauvignon Blanc has been added, as in previous years, following positive feedback from consumers.

Winemaking Notes: Whole clusters of Tinta Roriz were direct pressed. The Touriga Nacional and Souzao were foot trodden together and promptly bladder pressed. Natural primary fermentation with no temperature control or fermentation aids of any sort. Full native malolactic conversion. 5 months on the lees, one racking before blending and bottling. Unfined and Unfiltered.

Vineyard Notes: Fox Hill rests between Hopland and Ukiah just up from the Russian River on benchland called the Talmage Bench. Uplifted former riverbed, Fox Hill is predominantly standstone based – very rocky and pebbly, with a large amount of quartz to trip over as one is weaving one's way in and out of the vine rows that eventually find their way into Mahlon, Chilion, Feints, and Rosé. Fox Hill is a CCOF certified organic vineyard owned and farmed by Broc Cellars.
