Winemaking Notes: The Rogue Vine Grand Itata Tinto is primarily old vine Cinsault blended with a little País. The grapes are sourced from the La Bella Vineyard that was planted in 1960. The bush vines are harvested by hand and then whole berry fermented spontaneously with native yeast. Maturation occurs in 10-year-old neutral oak. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered. The addition of sulfites is dependent upon vintage; little to no SO2 is added prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes: Rogue Vine Grand Itata Tinto is a delicate explosion of red fruits. The nose shows bright red fruits of raspberry and strawberry with rose petals and hints of fresh forest floor. The palate is defined by its tannin and acid structure that keeps the wine lifted accentuating the fruit and leading to a racy finish. This Cinsault-based blend is a great representation of the Itata Hills where old bush vines are only 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean.
