Vineyard Notes: Grapes come from the Grebennikoff Vineyard in Sonoma Valley. The vineyard is certified organic and the vines are over 35 years old, interplanted with Merlot and Chardonnay. The Dowdell Creek runs down the base of Sonoma Mountain and parellel to the vineyard, eventually intersecting into the Sonoma Creek. The soils are full of gravelly alluvium that is high in quartz from the sedimentary rocks deposited through the Dowdell Creek.

Winemaking Notes: Merlot was 25% whole cluster, 25% crushed and destemmed, and 50% direct pressed. The Chardonnay was destemmed and lightly pressed, and the skins were added to the Merlot in an open top stainless fermenter. Wine underwent manual bi-daily punch downs. It was aged in neutral French oak barrels for 11 months and was racked twice.
