Harvest Notes: Harvest of 2017 was unusually early in for Foley, so the wildfires that ravaged Napa and Sonoma counties that year happened while their wines were already in tank or barrel. They were thankfully spared from the flames and any smoke damage to the fruit.

Vinearyd Notes: The Napa Valley Cabernet combines the characteristics of the AVAs where they farm Cabernet Sauvignon. Weathered, high elevation mountain vineyards provide intensity of color, higher acidity levels, and spiciness from the surrounding forests. The lower elevation blocks of Calistoga, with rocky soils and more extreme heat summation, provide a lush midpalate and fine tannins--the perfect Yin and Yang with which to blend this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaking Notes: 7-day fermentation in stainless; aged 18-20 months in French oak barrels

Tasting Notes: Aromas of blackberry and black cherry display pure ripeness. Rich on the palate, ripe flavors follow through with even and gently gripping tannin. A delightful mouth-coating Cabernet nicely balanced with natural acidity.

“The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is also incredibly perfumed, with lots of blue fruits, violets, and spring flower notes to go with a medium to full-bodied style on the palate. It brings this terrific mix of richness and elegance. As with the Claret, it was aged 18-20 months in 30% new French oak.”

"Beautiful cassis, graphite, dark chocolate, and floral hints emerge from the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is medium to full-bodied and has great tannins as well as a balanced, classical style. A terrific 2017 that shines on all accounts, it should keep for 10-15 years."
