Terroir Notes: Salina is one of the seven sun-kissed Aeolian Islands off the northern coast of Sicily. Also known as the Lipari Islands, the volcanic islands are in the southern Tyrrhenian Sea, up off the northern Sicilian coast and opposite the Tyrrhenian coast of Messina. They belong to the metropolitan city of Messina. The climate in Salina is Mediterranean. The grapes for this wine come from Santa Marina Salina on the eastern side of the island of Salina. The winery owns 2 hectares there. Rain is rare and mainly concentrated in Autumn and Winter. The temperatures, high in spring and summer, are sensibly lowered during the night due to the cold currents coming down from Mount Fossa delle Felci (961m a.s.l.).

Winemaking Notes: Fermented in stainless steel and bottled around 7 months after the harvest.

Tasting Notes: The Barone di Villagrande Salina Bianco is a wine of the island in its perfume and texture, each sip brings you back to Salina. The label evokes the sun in the glass. It is floral, citrus, and mineral with aromatic herbs and a balsamic finish. It goes well with fresh cheeses, fruit and vegetables in pinzimonio , and is the perfect marriage with the Salina caper.
