Winemaking Notes: The fruit for this wine comes from two vineyard plots: La Cabane and La Gravette. Grapes are manually harvested and manually sorted. Wine ages for 14 months in French oak barrels, 1/3 of which were new.
Tasting Notes: In the glass, the Alios red Bordeaux exudes an intense bouquet of black fruit (plum and blackcurrant), cedar and toasted notes. On the palate, it is ample and generous with round tannins that are both silky and elegant. The finish is long and seductive. The aging potential is between 3-10 years.
Vintage Notes by Antonio Galloni for Vinous 2/23/2023: "Two thousand-twenty is an incredibly exciting vintage for Bordeaux. After having tasted more than 800 wines for this report, my conclusion is that 2020 is by far the most consistent of the three vintages in Bordeaux’s so-called trilogy spanning 2018 through 2020. It is a year brimming with phenomenal wines at all levels, from the big names down to bottles the average consumer can still afford to purchase by the case."
