Vineyard Notes: Trained on espalier, the vines at this 20-year old vineyard grow in quartz-laden clay soil in the Lolol micro-terroir, a subsector of the Colchagua Valley. 20 miles from the Pacific coast and 330 feet above sea level, the vineyard is nestled in a warm, temperate climate where the dry season lasts six to eight months out of the year. Diurnal shifts can be up to 20 degrees, which fosters ripening and sugar concentration.

Winemaking Notes: Cabernet Sauvignon fruit is harvested by hand. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeast in stainless-steel. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally during the spring in steel. The wine is aged in tank and bottled without fining or filtration.

Tasting Notes: On the nose, aromatics include notes of ripe red fruit marked by dark plum and cherry. Tannins are dusty and delicate, complimented by notes of stewed blueberries and red fruit. Pair this fresh and direct Cabernet with roasted red meat, aged cheese and rich, spicy dishes.

This Cabernet comes from vineyards that are about 20 years old in the Ránquil zone in Lolol. Made with minimal intervention, left unoaked, with just 12.7% of alcohol, this is a red full of ripe red fruits in a texture with rustic touches, wild tannins, and firm acidity. The grapes for this wine were harvested in very late May due to the intense fog that lasted well into the afternoon, significantly delaying ripening. That's why this wine has a refreshing sensation despite all those tannins. A Cabernet with a vibrant character.
