Winemaking Notes: After soft pressing and fermentation, the must macerates on the skins for approximately 21 days. Fermentation occurs in thermo-conditioned stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrel. The Ghemme is aged at least 24 months in large French oak barrels and an additional minimum of 24 months in bottle before release.
Tasting Notes: In the glass, the Ghemme is a shade of luminous ruby with light, lively garnet tones. The perfume is intense, with a distinguishing mark of cherry, green tobacco, and violets. Overall, it is juicy, smooth and refreshingly acidic, with a long, slightly mineral and very persistent finish.

"This taut structured red has aromas of woodland berry, baking spice, forest floor and crushed stone. The medium-bodied, focused palate delivers juicy red cherry, strawberry, white pepper and star anise alongside fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. A mineral note of crushed oyster shell lingers on the close. Drink 2020–2030."
