Vintage Notes: Mild winter, normal to a bit late bud break, solid crop set, freakishly wonderful summer with very long hang time

Winemaking Notes: Grapes are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks with gentle pump overs twice a day. The wine ages in neutral French oak barrels for 8 months sur lie.

Tasting Notes: High tone, racy floral notes of rose petals, cassis, hints of all-spice and crushed black pepper. Background notes of black licorice and caramel. Medium-bodied, fresh flavors of ripe raspberry and cassis. Finishes long with red fruits and a hint of licorice.

The foreground in this image is normally marsh grass, but the tide covered it all and allowed me the luxury of 'walking on water.' Looking out over the Kiawah River, the water was so smooth it reminded me of mercury."
