Founded in 2016, Back Roads Importing curates a distinctive portfolio of artisan spirits from Mexico and Italy, along with natural, minimal intervention wines from small family Italian estates. The collection reflects a deep passion for underrepresented regions and categories, emphasizing products that embody a strong sense of place, culture, craftsmanship, and tradition.Founder Blake Nicholoff relocated the company from Denver to Chicago in 2020, where we connected over a shared enthusiasm for natural Italian wine. When the timing aligned, we were proud to introduce a selection of his remarkable spirits to the Cream portfolio, expanding and enriching our Mexican spirits category.
Today, Back Roads champions the artisans who keep cultural heritage alive, from raicilla and mezcal to Mexican herbal liqueurs crafted with time-honored methods and natural ingredients. Each bottle represents authenticity, sustainability, and a true sense of place—a reflection of the people and stories that inspire them.
