A fourth generation member of one of California’s oldest wine families, August Sebastiani is the president of 3 Badge Beverage Corporation in Sonoma, California, where he lives with his wife, Allison, and their four children. Thinking back on his childhood in Sonoma, August remembers the excitement of discovery and freedom as he studied his small town and its outskirts. He remembers dusty roads that led to forgotten vineyards and properties. Gehricke is a tribute to one such road.

Winemaker Alex Beloz was born and raised in the Chicago area and has been rooted in the world of Sonoma wine for two decades. After launching his career and growing into the role of winemaker, Alex traveled to France, New Zealand and Chile, where he consulted for various wineries. Today at Gehricke, Alex’s repertoire of varieties features Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah.

Sebastiani History: Sebastiani’s storied journey in Sonoma winemaking commenced over a century ago when Samuele Sebastiani emigrated from Tuscany, Italy, in 1895. Nine years later, he founded Sebastiani Winery. A stonemason by trade, Samuele mined the Sonoma hills for cobblestones used to pave the streets of San Francisco. Through his tireless work and prudent savings, he purchased land in Sonoma County, where he began producing wine for the local community and San Francisco’s restaurants. The winery was the only one in Sonoma County to continue operations through Prohibition, making a small amount of sacramental and medicinal wines. During Prohibition and the Depression, Samuele Sebastiani undertook major projects to provide jobs for his neighbors. To keep the winery running, he also started canning peaches, pears, and nectarines. Bill Foley purchased Sebastiani in 2008.

Tart and zesty, with baked cherry, charred oak and pepper flavors that finish with medium-grained tannins. Drink now through 2031
