Since his childhood, Olivier Coste’s favorite places to play have been the vineyards and the family wine cellar at Domaine Montrose, his family’s renown wine estate founded in 1701 in Pézenas. With this upbringing, Olivier developed a profound attachment to the Languedoc’s terroir and landscape, and later to its wines. Following in his father's footsteps, Olivier lives at Domaine Montrose and is the 9th generation to work the estate. Olivier and his father utilize 300 years of history and tradition to produce the wines of Domaine Montrose, and now the Olivier Coste line of beautiful and exuberant wines.
Sustainability: The Coste family is dedicated to sustainability and biodiversity on their property, so that future generations can enjoy nature’s heritage. 100% of their energy needs come from solar panels. Waste water is reused on the property. They use mechanical tools, rather than chemical herbicides, to weed in the vineyard. Pheromones, rather than pesticides, are used to prevent harmful worms. Grape pomace fertilizes the vineyard. Biodiversity preservation includes the continuous planting of trees to maintain the wilderness (more than 2,000 at present). Finally, the wines are carbon neutral. To help preserve the planet, they offset 100% of carbon emissions generated by financing green projects.
