Ermes Pavese 2022 'Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle' Valle D'Aosta DOC Login In Stock

Ermes Pavese is a youthful grower in the commune of La Ruine just outside of the town of Morgex in the high Alps minutes from the summit of Mont Blanc. Ermes Pavese established his winery in 1999, following the advice and experience of his family. He planted his 3+ hectares of vineyards exclusively with the native Prié Blanc grape variety. Because these vineyards are so isolated, Pavese has been able to work with the original, pre-phylloxera rootstock since that malady never infiltrated this area when it came sweeping through Europe many years ago. Even today cuttings are selected from the vines themselves instead of being grown artificially in green houses. He now produces three versions of Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle.

"This is one of the better-known family-run domaines of the upper valley, making sought-after Blanc de Morgex et La Salles. I think the wines have really improved noticeably over the course of the last few years and are now worth seeking out."
