Made from 1.5 hectares of vines in Casasse of the incredibly rare Nebbiolo Rose clone. Roughly .45 hectares were planted in 1913, with the balance planted in 2008 and 2009 from masale selection. Vines this old are almost non-existent in the Langhe.

Primary fermentation last 10 - 15 days in stainless steel with a traditional cappello sommerso maceration lasting an additional 10+ days. The wine is aged in a mix of used barrels for 3-4 years before bottling and sees another 2 years of bottle aging prior to release.

    The 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Rose delle Casasse is fabulous. Rich and ample in feel, the 2019 is seriously impressive. There is a feeling of breadth that is palpable. Dark red/purplish fruit, rose petal, blood orange and spice blossom with a bit of coaxing. Readers can drink the 2019 now or cellar it. Time in the glass brings out the wine's inner perfume. This finishes with notable substance and explosive resonnance.
