Bitouzet owns a 0.13-hectare sliver of Pinot Noir in this centrally located Volnay premier cru, from vines planted in 1991 in the En l’Ormeau sector of the vineyard. Dark-fruited and relatively powerful in its tannins, Mitans leads with earthiness, displaying a savory essence in even the most fruit-forward of vintages. This cuvée represents an exclusive for the US market, as RWM is fortunate to purchase the entirety of its production each vintage (typically three barrels).
