Vineyard Notes: Roussanne, Marsanne, and Muscat from Cecchini & Cecchini Vineyard (formerly The Urban Edge Farm) in Knightsen, Contra Costa County. The vineyard is farmed according to organic principles (no pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers).
Winemaking Notes: Marsanne, Roussanne, and Muscat harvested together and briefly tumbled in the press for just a hint of skin contact before pressing, then fermented on full lees in stainless steel. The wine was then racked off lees to neutral oak barrique to continue aging for an additional 8 months before blending and bottling, and an additional 8 months in bottle before release. Unfined. Filtered for stability.
Martha Stoumen's Notes: “Solo Act 2022 returns the spotlight to a favorite co-ferment of Marsanne, Roussanne, and Muscat blanc from Cecchini & Cecchini Vineyard in Contra Costa County. When crafting our Post Flirtation White blend, these three varieties are co-fermented before blending with Colombard or Vermentino for balanced acidity. In 2020, intuition suggested that we put aside a few barrels worth of wine from the co-ferment prior to blending and provide the wine its own stage — a solo act! The 2022 wine continues this performance with an exotic citrus oil aroma and a generous and salty palate ready for pairing with food.”
