Eleuterio Perez Ramos, also known as "Tío Tello," produced this batch of wild Cuishe (agave Karwinskii) with the help of his son Eduardo, at their palenque in El Nanche, Oaxaca. Tío Tello has been making mezcal for over 50 years and upholds a uniquely artisan tradition of production compared to the rest of the producers in Miahuatlan. Tio Tello harvests exclusively mature agave and maintains a process of hand mashing that is essentially lost in the region.
