Proyecto Nakkal 2023 'Nakcool' Tinto, Canelones

Winemaking Notes: The Nakcool Tinto is a blend of Merlot & Muscat Ottonel. The Merlot is from "Las Violeta" (Canelones) and the Muscat Ottonel was rescued from abandoned vineyards in "Rincón Del Cerro." Grapes were harvested by hand. Merlot was the first to be harvested, looking for low alcohol content and a lot of freshness, while the Muscat Ottonel was harvested at the maximum point of maturation, and macerated with skins for a week to provide aromatics and body. The wine was fermented with native yeasts and was aged in tank. It was then blended and bottled with no fining, filtration, or added SO2.

Tasting Notes: The Nakcool Tinto is a smooth wine, very expressive on the nose, and ideal for those who seek refreshing wines and those who are not afraid to finish the whole bottle.

About the Wine: Nakcool belongs to the Nat'Cool movement, which originated in Portugal, the brainchild of Dirk Niepoort. This project generates a union between producers of minimal intervention.
