Vineyard Notes: Fregellae is produced from three rare but native grapes to Lazio: Maturano bianco, Pampanaro and Capolongo. The grapes are from new hillside vineyards in the town of Arce in the village of Tramonti. The vines are young, around 10 years old. The vineyards are certified biodynamic.
Winery Notes: Palazzo Tronconi is a proud member of Renaissance des Appellations, Vi.Te, and VinNatur—associations that champion transparency and integrity in natural winemaking. In the vineyard, farming is fully non-interventionist, allowing the fruit to express its origin without compromise. In the cellar, grapes are vinified and aged in cement, using only native yeasts. The wines are unfined, with minimal sulfur added at bottling, resulting in clean, elegant expressions that speak clearly of place.
About the Name: Fregellae (328 AC-125 AC) was the most important Roman colony in southern Lazio.
