Vineyard Notes: This high-altitude, 100% Tempranillo comes from Ramón Saavedra's north-facing vineyards in Cortes y Graena, on the north side of Sierra Nevada mountains. Vines are around 20 years old and farmed organically. Harvest is done by hand.

Winemaking Notes: Cauzón ages in stainless steel with occasional use of small old barrels. Ramón’s terruño speaks for itself so very little intervention is required in the cellar. The wine ferments spontaneously with native yeast. No filtering or fining occurs at any time, and no additions of additives occurs of any kind, not even sulfites.

Tasting Notes: A juicy yet earthy, medium-bodied, natural red that can take a chill nicely. Cauzón is a staff favorite by Tori Pates.
