Királyudvar’s Furmint Sec is the estate's signature dry white blend and is easily among the best dry wines produced in Tokaj.
Vineyard Notes: Királyudvar has six main vineyards located in Tokaj's heartland in the towns of Mád and Bodrogkeresztúr. All are historically important grand cru sites; including Henye, Percze, Becsek, and the great Lapis. This wine comes primarily from the Percze Vineyard, which is a picturesque ten-acre hillside vineyard nestled within a colorful fruit orchard.
Winemaking Notes: The grapes are gently whole-cluster pressed, settled, fermented with the native yeast, and then aged in 500-liter neutral barrels for 7-8 months before bottling.
Tasting Notes: This innovative dry wine wondrously balances Furmint's viscous intensity and bright acidity. A delightful and unusual white, this full-bodied Furmint Sec exhibits delicate floral aromas, citrus fruit flavors and fine, food-friendly acidity that converge to a focused, attention-grabbing mineral finish. Drink with light cream sauces, olive oil based sauces, or even lightly spicy Asian cuisine. Also try pairing this dry Furmint with tuna tartare.
