Vineyard Notes: This white grape covets warm, sunny climates that are moderated by maritime breezes or cooler nighttime temperatures, so it’s right at home in Lodi. Andrus Island Vineyard is situated on an isle in the middle of the California Delta, where the cooling breezes from the Pacific and granite-based mineral soil help maintain high acidity levels and a defined texture. The vines are around 10 years old on average.

Winemaking Notes: To accentuate the balance of flavor and acid, the fruit was harvested on dual occasions, separated by one week. Picked by hand in the evenings of late August, the Albariño was whole-cluster pressed, then slowly fermented in cool, stainless steel tanks (at around 50 degrees) for three weeks.

Tasting Notes: The Field Theory Albariño brings together heightened aromatics, a luscious mouthfeel, and a long finish for a wine that perfectly represents Albariño’s nickname: "Summer in a Glass." Think white peach, nectarine, grapefruit, lemon peel, pineapple, and wet stone. Enjoy!

“As a grape, Albariño delivers everything you could possibly want in a white wine: the freshness and crispness of a Sauvignon Blanc, complemented by roundness, slickness and body. Our Lodi version exhibits all those classic characteristics, as well as a great balance between texture and aromatics (specifically juicy stone fruit and sweet citrus). I’d pair this with calamari and Spanish goat cheese!” - Katie Owen, Winc Wine Director
