Tasting Notes: The Freire Lobo Vigno Branco is a fresh and fruity white wine with excellent minerality and very balanced acidity. Enjoy notes of pear and white flowers with hints of stone.
Winemaking Notes: The grapes are manually harvested. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel with indigenous yeast. The wine is aged in the presence of fine lees, without battonage, until the bottling in late April.
Terroir Notes: The vineyards are located in Oliveira do Hospital, near Serra da Estrela. They are farmed organically with some biodynamic principles with the goal of maintaining a balanced biodiversity. Bordaleiras sheep (typical of Serra da Estrela) graze the land during the winter months to control herb growth and add essential fertilizer. All the fertilization is organic with manure, and no herbicides are used. Cover crops improve the soil structure and fertility. They also help manage the nutrients and limited water available in the poor, granitic soil.
