Château de Béru’s most prestigious wine is Clos Béru Chablis.

Vineyard Notes: Clos Béru is a unique, walled vineyard of 5 hectares located on the Château de Béru’s property. It is the estate’s monopole vineyard. A wall has enclosed the parcel since the 13th century when monks chose to isolate the distinctive terroir of the plot. Clos Béru lies on a beautiful hill facing south, southwest at 300 meters (high for Chablis). The entire terroir is characterized by very chalky and stony soils dotted with fossilized seashells, dating from the Kimmeridgian era.

Winemaking Notes: The vineyard is plowed by horse. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted. The harvest is directly pressed at a low pressure. Fermentation occurs with native yeast. The wine ages for a long time: 18 months in demi-muids, 1 year in casks, and 6 months in bottle. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration. This 2017 magnum is without added sulfites (san soufre).

Tasting Notes: Clos Béru Chablis is simply gorgeous Chardonnay. The vineyard produces brilliant, powerful, round, and mineral wines. The wines have tremendous depth, complexity and energy.
