Vineyard Notes: The majority of Laherte's vines are in Coteaux Sud d’Epernay, an area between the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne. Aurélien farms 7 hectares biodynamically and certified organic, with the other vineyards farmed uncertified organic or, at minimum, sustainably. This cuvée is a tribute to Aurélien Laherte's ancestors and to the grape variety Pinot Meunier. The selected Pinot Meunier plots for this wine were planted by the Laherte family between 1947 and 1953 in the villages of Chavot and Mancy. Some have been planted on French rootstock, others are the result of old massal selection.

Winemaking Notes: Aurèlien uses traditional wooden Coquard presses. Fermentation occurs with native yeast in old Burgundy barrels. Malolactic fermentation does not take place. The wine ages for many months on the lees. Dosage is between two and four grams per liter.

"The 2018 Extra Brut Vignes d’Autrefois is a selection of 100% Meunier sourced from vines planted between 1947 and 1964. Deeply-pitched and vinous, the Autrefois fills out beautifully with a bit of time in the glass. The aromatics alone are thrilling, but all the elements are so well balanced. Old-vine Meunier planted on chalk yields a Champagne that deftly balances richness with vibrancy. The Autrefois nimbly captures the essence of the house style. It's a gorgeous Champagne from Laherte. Dosage is 2-4 grams per liter. Disgorged: November, 2021. Drinking window: 2022-2030." - Antonio Galloni
