Vineyard: Barra Vineyard is a truly unique site nestled in Redwood Valley in Mendocino County. The roots of these 50-year-old Chardonnay vines dig deeply into the soils in which they are planted. Fermented in 100% neutral French oak, this bright, food-friendly Chardonnay showcases the unique terroir of Redwood Valley. The same family has owned and farmed Barra Vineyard for generations. They've been farming their vineyards organically before the term even existed!

Vinification: The Chardonnay was entirely manually harvested, and whole clusters were pressed and allowed to ferment using only indigenous yeast and bacteria. The wine fermented in steel tanks and was racked at dryness to 300-gallon flextanks where it aged on the fine lees for 7 months. 18ppm SO2 was added to the wine prior to its gentle bottling in May of 2022.

Tasting Notes: The old vines and heritage clonal selection lends a density of flavor while maintaining freshness and brightness. Lots of citrus notes are paired with quince and apple, resulting in a deeply layered and drinkable wine.
