This is a fresh and balanced rendition of the classic Douro red. It preserves the intrinsic bend toward the richness and power of the Douro, all while showcasing balance, minerality and elegance.

Terroir Notes: Vines (20-80+ years old) are tended in schist soil at a range of elevation in Cima Corgo, Douro. Cima Corgo is a subregion that experiences extreme highs and lows from a temperature standpoint, with some of the greatest day-night temperature changes in Portugal. As such, the fruit experiences extended hangtime.

Winemaking Notes: The fruit is manually harvested. Grapes macerate for around 20 days. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeast. The wine ages for 12 months in 50% stainless steel, 25% new French barrique, and 25% old French barrique.

Pairing suggestions: This is a rich, dark-fruited wine that pairs beautifully with grilled and roasted meats and richer game dishes.

Tasting notes: In the glass, this wine presents a deep shade of violent. On the nose, redolent of black and blue fruit tinged with violets and wet stone. On the palate, rich but balanced, with fresh acidity coupling the dark blueberry and plum fruit. The finish is long and spicy, with a big dose of flowers and minerals.

    Rating: 90 (7/29/2022)

The 2019 Tinto is a 55/20 blend of Touriga Nacional and Sousão, with the remaining 25% a field blend from old vines (80+ years), unoaked and coming in at 13.4% alcohol. It has a bold, fruit-forward demeanor and a real backbone. Most of all, though, it puts that into a precise package with good acidity and a balanced demeanor. On the finish, it has some plums and strawberries mingled together. This is nicely done at a good price.

    Rating: 91 (7/15/2022)

Partial wood aging has underlined the structure of this wine while leaving a fine blackberry juiciness. Still vibrant with perfumed fruits and integrated tannins, it is a fine wine that will be ready from 2024.
