Etsu Gin is produced by the Asahikawa Distillery on the island of Hokkaido in the northern part of Japan. The gin follows an ancient Asian recipe that requires various herbs and citrus fruits, some of which can only be found in Asia. The main botanicals – green bitter orange peel, coriander, licorice, yuzu peel, green tea, sansho pepper, berries and angelica root – macerate for more than 24 hours in neutral cane spirit distilled to 83% ABV. It is then diluted down to 43% ABV with water sourced from the Taisetsu Mountains and filtered through charcoal for optimal purity.

Tasting Notes: What makes this gin special is the lingering notes of orange peel and yuzu. It is a nicely balanced gin with a smooth and delightful bitter-sweet flavor profile. Enjoy hints of peppers, berries, and green tea on the palate.
