Terroir Notes: Falanghina is the main variety in Sannio and in Campania overall. The Falanghina vine is vigorous, producing a generous crop, and requires soils with water availability. For this reason, Perlingieri's Falanghina is cultivated on their lower plots of land in the town of Solopaca with volcanic sandy and calcareous soils. The name Preta – local dialect name for stone – evokes the soil characteristic of the vineyards where the grapes are cultivated.

The 2021 Falanghina del Sannio Preta is pretty and delicate in the glass, wafting up with young peach and dusty yellow floral aromas. This is a pure yet energetic effort, with crisp orchard fruits elevated by bright acidity. Its minerality comes through in the finish, blending with a salty mineral flourish that is quite attractive.
