Cherry House Red is from the famed Villa Creek Cellars in western Paso Robles. This Rhone-style blend of Grenache, Carignan and Mourvedre is from their MAHA estate and surrounding vineyards, all farmed naturally using organic principles.

Winemaking Notes: The grapes were 100% destemmed and fermented with native yeast in concrete for two weeks prior to gentle pressing into neutral 500-liter puncheons for aging.

Tasting Notes: Aromatics include black cherry, plum, tar, strawberry jam, saffron, cherry blossom, and cardamom. The palate is supple, with notes of blueberries, black cherry, anise, smoke and Chinese five spice. Tannins are fine grained. Oak is present but in the back seat.

"The 2021 red from Cherry House is intense, with a burst of crushed raspberries, sage and balsamic spice. This is round and supple with juicy acidity and dark red berries that flow across a core of stimulating acidity. It leaves a saturation of primary concentration, lingering incredibly long and spicy, yet this cleans up beautifully in the end."
