Vinification Notes: Each grape variety is picked by hand and vinified separately. Fermentation occurs in contact with the skins for 2-3 weeks at 25°C. Malolactic fermentation takes place. The varieties are blended together and then aged in large oak barrels for 9 months. The wine clarifies spontaneously in cement vats with no need for filtration. The Montefalco Rosso ages in bottle for 6 months before release.

Tasting Notes: Antonelli Montefalco Rosso is a deep ruby red color with purple tints. The bouquet is intense and fruity with wild berries, cherries and plums. To the palate it is dry, warm and beautifully balanced. This wine can be consumed immediately or can be cellared for several years. The freshness provided by the Sangiovese gives it an excellent drinkability. Pair it with flavorsome first courses like risotto, tagliatelle, and ravioli.
